Lunchtime Sessions

A few years back, as part of our #DigitalTenderness project, we invited a group of singer / songwriters into The Georgian Theatre under strict covid secure conditions to record examples of their work.

Each recorded their music in a different – often unseen – part of our building .

It was a real cause of sadness that the talents on show here had to be hidden away from public view for over a year because of lockdowns.  Artists and technicians were deprived of the ability to work because of restrictions; often with no access to support because of the way that they had traditionally earned their income over many decades.

It all seems so long ago and they’re all back in music venues now and doing what they do best…

We still think it’s worth showing these sessions as an example of the tough times that artists went through at the time – and arguably, the sector still hasn’t fully recovered from those awful days.
