Ceiling Demons

Ceiling Demons - Where Flowers Grow

Ceiling Demons are an alternative art-rap band from Richmond, North Yorkshire. Born out of bereavement and taking influence from artists such as The Streets, Joy Division and Tricky. Combining poetic wordplay from front men and twin brothers; Psy Ceiling and Dan Demon over cinematic instrumentals, Ceiling Demons aim to strike your heartstrings with their intense and chaotic performances touching on themes of love and loss. Art over entertainment, delivered with a punk philosophy. The Demons are strong advocates of addressing mental health issues in their art and have worked extensively with suicide prevention charities such as CALM to raise awareness and funds for a cause close to their hearts. They’ve supported the likes of Young Fathers, Sleaford Mods, Busdriver, Dylan Cartlidge and Ceschi among others, and are praised by Louder Than War and NARC Magazine for their passionate live shows. Previous releases include a 7” split via Come Play With Me - championed as a favourite by the legendary Calvin Johnson of K Records and their acclaimed album Nil was released via north east labels Win Big Records and Butterfly Effect respectively. Live performances include slots festivals such as Stockton Calling, Long Division, Richmond Live, Evolution Emerging (Tipping Point Live), Last Train Home, Tramlines, Songs From Northern Britain and Twisterella – they continue to work on new material and push themselves both sonically and in live environments.
